New Water Based Paint System For Mobile Car Body Repairs

In July 2008 Car Body Repairs 4 Less introduced a new paint system for all its mobile repairs which replaced its old solvent based paint system. Water based paints were taken and tested on a month long trial by our smart repair technicians. The results were impressive, over the trial the paint finish was smoother and more colour correct than solvent based. We also found that when repairing damage, the area which had to be sprayed was reduced due to the colour matching and blending properties of the paint.

The new water based paint system was introduced earlier in the year to comply with new legislation set out by the government on the use of chemicals in the environment. Water based paint is more effective than the solvent based system with better coverage and greater colour matching accuracy. With faster drying times more depth of colour and more environmentally friendly water based paints are the way ahead.
