Winter Repairs

Summer has gone and we are already in the middle of autumn with winter fast approaching. Here at car body repairs 4 less we have the ability to carry out our mobile service throughout the winter period, with the use of a mobile shelter system that is priceless in the colder wetter months.

In winter the colder wetter weather can have adverse effects on scratches and scuffs on your car, if left untreated. It doesn’t take long for bare metal to start to rust and scuffs on plastic to start to peel. Most people think that smart repair services can’t fix these sort of damages in the more harsher conditions of winter, so they choose to leave the repair until the weather improves which could be months away. It’s always better to get these types of damage fixed before the weather gets worst and we have the ability to carry these out for you no matter what the weather conditions.

We all know how expensive Christmas and the holiday period can be so if it’s a case of not having the money available to get the damage fixed then try and follow the tips below on how to prevent the damage getting worst until the funds become available to sort out the problem.

  1. If it’s a scuff or scratch on a plastic panel, get a touch up stick and seal the broken paintwork. This will prevent the paint from lifting and flaking of in larger chunks.
  2. If the damage is on a metal panel use a rust eater fluid on the bare metal then once dry use a touch up stick as above to seal off the metal from the elements.
  3. If your concerned about your wheel arches or that they are susceptible to rust then dry off the inner wheel arch section and coat with grease, this will aid the run off of water reducing the chance of rust bubbles forming.
  4. Stone chips should also be touched in as above.

Using the above tips will aid in reducing the chance of paint on your bodywork rusting, peeling or flaking.
It’s always better to get the damage fixed as soon as it occurs.

TestimonialsRepair ProcessesCar Body Repairs 4 Less have many satisfied customers, here's what some had to say;

Dean did a de-rusting job on my beloved 14 year-old Peugeot 406 a few weeks ago. Excellent job, done with real care and attention and far more perfection on the tricky paint-matching job on the bonnet than I was looking for. All this, and a bubbly, warm character too. Heartily recommended. Paul Tilson
